Maritime
Greenwich College is committed to providing high-quality,
world-class education at an affordable price. The
courses we offer are arranged
on a flexible schedule to meet the needs of both current and
prospective students. The flexible points of entry for most of
our programmes (September, January or June), which provide you
with the opportunity to commence your studies earlier in the
year in either spring or summer semesters. The cultural
diversity of the student body and faculty means that we have
truly international programmes.
Prime Location
Maritime Greenwich College is located in one of
the main cultural, social and financial centre of the world -
London. All of our programmes have the opportunity to take
advantage of these unlimited resources and networking
opportunities. The College has two campuses in Woolwich, both in South-East London. Each campus is a dedicated
teaching centre for a given set of subjects and a bustling
centre of learning with its own individual character. Both
campuses are in prime locations with reference to transport
infrastructure linking them to the centre of London and the
local area. Our both campuses contains an
architecturally-distinctive building in the very heart of
Woolwich town centre. These campus gives immediate access to all
the excitement and learning resources of the borough, including
local libraries, parks and gardens where students can sit to
read or take a break. Students can also have easy access to
Central London which is only about 15-25 minutes away from the
campuses.
Lecturers
All our lecturers are highly-qualified
professionals with years of teaching experience. They are
highly-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic and resourceful men
and women dedicated to obtaining results.
Labs/Classrooms
We focus on small lecture sizes to provide you with a higher
learning experience and install specific help to meet your
individual learning needs. The College is equipped with
state-of-the-art technology. Our computer laboratory includes
the latest Pentium Multimedia PCs. Our Intranet laboratory runs
various servers such as Windows 2003 Server, SQL Server and Web
Server. Classrooms are spacious and comfortable.
IT Facilities
Our students
have access to our IT Laboratory for high-speed, free Internet
access as a valuable research and learning tool while on College
premises. The College's Intranet is available from outside of
the College with a personalised account provided to our
students.
The College IT facilities can also be accessed
with student laptops or PDAs through high-speed Local Wireless
Access.
Accommodation Facilities
We have
teamed up with local estate agents to provide affordable
accommodation to suit the individual needs of our students.
While London is a notoriously expensive city, the accommodation
we arrange for our students is very reasonable for the area and
is usually within 15-30 minutes travel of our campuses.
Airport Transportation
The College
arranges an airport pick-up service on request for those
students who are arriving in the UK for the first time.
Joining a Local Gym
The College
has arranged a discount for its students at a local fitness
centre, offering them affordable access to fitness and
recreation facilities within easy reach of the College.
Online Forum
Knowing the
emotional and financial strain that studying abroad can place on
overseas students, the College runs an online forum for our
students, enabling them to share their experiences of London,
offer support to each other and to exchange advice on finding
part-time employment and other related queries. The College's
Administration Department will also help students with their
queries and advise them on finding a job.
LT (London Transport) and ISIC (International
Student Identity Card) cards
Students of
Maritime Greenwich College are eligible for both of these cards.
The College will provide students with the relevant forms for
making an application for these cards, allowing them to claim
discounts on public transportation within the City of London,
overseas travel, entertainment and leisure activities.
Other Facilities
The College provides all of the documents required for, among
other things, to overseas students to extend their leave to
remain in the UK as a student (UK Student Visa), to open a bank
account and to register with a doctor in the local area.
