Structure and Syllabus

The University of London is now offering its External students two alternative schemes of examination, called Scheme A and Scheme B respectively, taking a minimum of 3 and maximum of 8 years at MGC:-
Scheme A: Takes 3 years, full-time to complete and is illustrated below (4 subjects per year).
Scheme B: Takes 4 years, part-time to complete allowing students to work as they study or to study at a slower pace (3 subjects per year)

Note: This page is intended for use by prospective students as a guide. The course structure and fees shown above are subject to changes. Not all units will necessarily be available in every year. You should visit college and relevant university websites for up-to-date information. Registering as an external student with UOL and for the examination is entirely separate from enrolment on MGC courses. The student must seek and obtain a certificate of eligibility from the university and pay the registration and examination fees to the university directly.

Entry Requirement:
To be eligible to register for the LLB you must be at least 17 years of age at the time of registration and have passes in:
EITHER
two subjects at GCE 'A' level and at least three further subjects at GCSE or GCE 'O' level (at not less than grade C or a 'pass' if taken prior to 1975)
OR three subjects at GCE 'A' level and one further subject at GCSE or GCE 'O' level (at not less than grade C)
OR two subjects at GCE 'A' level and two further subjects at 'AS' level

OR equivalent overseas qualifications.

Applicants who did not have English as the formal language of instruction are expected to demonstrate a reasonable command of the language by taking a TOEFL or an IELTS test (for a TOEFL a score of 580 (or 237 on the computerised test) plus the Test of Written English (TWE) with a score of 4.5 (or a Writing Rating of 4.5 in the computerised test); for an IELTS test an overall score of at least 6 is achieved with a minimum of 5.5 in each sub-test). Applicants who don't have TOEFL or IELTS can undertake an intensive Pre-course English Language or EFL at College.
