Course Overview |
|
This qualification focuses on staff who provide
patient care, direct chair side work and support
during a range of dental treatments.
Staff carrying
out these roles would need to have considerable
knowledge and skills in relation to dental
equipment, instruments, materials and procedures and
be able to work as a key member of the oral health
care team.
You are assessed in nine areas:

Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and
security in the workplace |

Prepare and maintain environments for clinical
and dental procedures |

Offer information to individuals on the
protection of their oral health and support them
in doing so |

Provide chairside support during the assessment
of patients' oral health |

Process dental radiographs and support their
production |
 |
Provide chairside support during the prevention
and control of periodontal diseases and caries
and the restoration of cavities |
 |
Promote people's equality, diversity and rights |
 |
Promote communication with individuals where
there are communication differences |
 |
Develop one's own knowledge and practise |

You don't need any formal qualification to do this
course. But must be currently be working in an oral
health care setting |
